How to make the most of the outdoor spaces during Autumn?

How to make the most of the outdoor spaces during Autumn?

Autumn is here although we are fondly remembering the warm Summer days, very little are those who remain indifferent to this magical season.
Despite the cold and the shorter days Autumn feels nice, especially during a sunny day. Trees and bushes do not go by unnoticed, with their yellow, orange and red tones.

Are you already thinking about spending your day lounging on your sofa? Remember that there are several great, and even fun, things to outside before Winter comes.
We’ll give you a couple of ideas for all ages, so you can fully enjoy Autumn.

A stroll through nature – you can also drive, there are multiple scenic areas this time of year, but try to use that time to take long walks. It’s not as hot as before, sunshine isn’t as strong, and trees still have some foliage, some very exuberant coloured foliage, take in the pure and fresh air.

Have an outdoors photo shoot – you already have many pictures of your Summer days spent at the beach, but in the Autumn you can take gorgeous pictures, even natural lighting contributes. And you will not lack interesting details to photograph. This activity might even be done with your children. Autumn is a truly photogenic season.

Sports – walking for a couple of miles or even running, establish goals: a new goal every week, a new track. This is a great time to implement this routine, the air is fresh and the landscape is magnificent. If you don’t enjoy walking, take your bicycle, you will enjoy the ride.

Start collecting – there are so many beautiful leafs and fruits outside that you can collect, they are a good pretext to renovate the household décor.

Visit a vineyard – Harvesting is still happening, and it’s just the perfect time for you to join one or visit a vineyard and taste some good wine. The colours of the vineyards are impressive this time of year, have you ever visited the Douro region in the Autumn?

Go pumpkin picking – whether it is for cooking or for decorating them – orange also makes an appearance at the table, and Halloween is coming, so it is definitely time to go pumpkin picking.

Celebrate Magusto (the season to roast chestnuts) – it is one of the old traditions that remains, a great pretext to gather your friends around a fire pit, roasting chestnuts and drink wine or jeropiga (traditional Portuguese sweet wine). And event that can be fun for all ages.

Mushroom picking – it is a great pretext for a walk in the woods. But go with someone who knows them so you don’t risk picking poisonous or young mushrooms.

Trace leafs and trunks – children love tracing leaves and trunks, so bring pencil and paper, and enjoy teaching your children more about nature.

    Enjoy Autumn!
