The days are warmer and the evenings are getting better and better.

The days are warmer and the evenings are getting better and better, but you may not have thought of an element that adds magic to your garden, or even the way you see it from your home: lighting.

Good lighting can transform a space at night, allowing you to hide or enhance spaces and create surprise elements or shows.

Lighting in the garden can be used from a utilitarian or decorative perspective. From the first we get lighting that allows the simple use of the garden at night, such as, for instance, the lighting of paths and entry points that frequently used. Decorative lighting relate to the environment or atmosphere that we can created in the garden. I’ll leave some suggestions that will make you enjoy spending time outside in a different way, whether alone, with family or friends.

The entrance

Whether it is a pedestrian or car entrance, it is an area that should not be overlooked, as it signals the house and makes the first impression on those who arrive. To light the paths, you can choose luminaries built into the floor or pavement, or even higher, built into the wall, if your house has a wall associated with the entrance path. But to create a pleasant and impressive environment in the garden, it is worth emphasising certain elements such as sculpturally shaped trees, shrubs, or even the facades, creating a stronger impact.

The luminaries chosen must be resistant to the atmospheric conditions, LED lamps will be quite efficient.

Highlight elements

It is interesting that the decorative lighting itself allows you to perceive the limits of the garden or reveals some surprises as you go. To highlight some trees or sculptural elements, you can choose spotlights on stakes, which can be driven into the ground and point to the treetops, for instance.

Water features

If you have a water feature in your garden, take the opportunity to highlight it, the light in the moving water allows you to create patterns that end up being reflected on its surroundings, a truly magical and even relaxing show.

Of course, underwater luminaries have to be adapted for this purpose and even more resistant.

Flexibility

Sometimes you may want to light areas differently or depending on the use you give them. This happens, for instance, in dining areas and terraces with tables or living areas with chaises longues. In this situation you can use lanterns that will easily be able to transport from one area to another and create a very special environment. There are lots of models on the market, some will certainly be suitable for your garden and the way you want to experience it, allowing you to combine functionality, flexibility and aesthetics.

Lighting is another opportunity to better enjoy the outdoors in your home and provide moments of togetherness and relaxation for your friends and family.
